Countdown, 12 (355.)

The thing about growth is, it
doesn’t always happen in spurts.
After a while, too much
will hurt, so it becomes
an incremental thing.
Like blooms in spring.
Consistent water and sun
keep you going.
So don’t stop learning, and
keep growing.
You may not notice you’ve changed
until you lie down one night
and think
“Wow, I wouldn’t have looked at it
that way a few months ago.”
That’s a great feeling.
Reel it in and hold it close.
Let it envelop you like
the cocoon you already wear,
and keep on emerging,
forever chrysalis.
A moth, a butterfly,
a plant, a tree –
you can be
whatever you want to be.
